Delete Your Account,
Last updated: August 2026 · Applies to Element Real Estate accounts on the mobile apps and this website
You own your Element account and you can close it at any time. Deleting your account is permanent. We do not deactivate it, hide it, or hold it in case you come back. The record is removed from our live database and cannot be restored, so you would need to sign up again from scratch.
There are two ways to do it. Both end in the same place. Use the second one if you have already uninstalled the app.
Option 1
Inside the Element app
Fastest. The account is gone the moment you confirm.
- Open the Element app and make sure you are signed in.
- Go to the More tab (bottom right).
- Scroll to Account and tap Delete account.
- Read the confirmation screen and tap to confirm.
You are signed out immediately and the app returns to the sign-up screen.
Option 2
From this page
For anyone who no longer has the app installed, changed phone, or cannot sign in.
- Enter the email address on the account below.
- We email you a confirmation link.
- Open it to confirm. That link is what actually triggers the deletion.
We confirm by email so that nobody can close your account by typing your address into this form.
Request deletion by email
What gets deleted
When a deletion completes, the following is permanently removed from our systems:
- Your account record: name, email address and phone number.
- Your password. It was only ever stored as a salted scrypt hash, and that hash is deleted with the row.
- All email verification and password reset codes tied to your address.
- Your shortlist, compare list and saved searches held against the account on our servers.
- Your push notification device tokens, so we can no longer send notifications to your devices.
- Every sign-in session. Any token issued to the app or to this website stops working immediately.
Anything the app stored only on your phone (shortlist, compare picks, display currency) is removed when you delete the app from your device. It never left your phone in the first place.
What we keep, and why
Closing your account closes your account. It does not erase Element's record of business we did together, because we are a licensed brokerage and some of that we are required to keep. This is what survives a deletion:
- Inquiry and consultant records. If you submitted an inquiry, requested a valuation, booked a consultant call, or spoke to a consultant, that record sits in our CRM as a brokerage record, separate from your app login. We keep it for up to 24 months from your last contact with us, then delete it.
- Completed transactions. Where Element brokered a reservation or a sale, the contract, invoice and payment records are kept for as long as Egyptian tax and commercial law requires, currently five years. We cannot delete these on request.
- Security and server logs. IP address, timestamp and requested page. Kept 90 days for fraud and abuse investigation, then removed on rotation.
- Email delivery logs. Held by our email provider for up to 30 days so that we can prove a message was or was not delivered.
- Advertising events already sent. Where you submitted a lead form, a hashed, non-readable copy of your contact details may already have been sent to Meta through the Conversions API for ad measurement. We stop sending new events about you immediately. Meta's own retention rules govern what it already holds, and we will pass a deletion request to Meta if you ask.
- Anonymous statistics. Aggregated counts that can no longer be linked back to you as a person.
If you also want your inquiry and CRM records deleted, say so in the same request, or email us directly, and we will delete everything we are not legally required to keep.
How long it takes
- In the app: immediate. The record is removed the second you confirm.
- From this page: the confirmation email goes out within a few minutes. Deletion runs as soon as you open the link, and in every case within 7 days of you confirming.
- Encrypted backups: our backups roll over on a 30 day cycle, so a copy of the deleted record can persist in an offline backup for up to 30 days before it is overwritten. Backups are never used to restore a deleted account.
- If anything stops us completing your request inside 30 days, we will email you and tell you why.
If you no longer have the app installed
You do not need the app, and you do not need to be able to sign in. The form on this page is the route for you: it works entirely by email, and the confirmation link is the only proof of ownership we need. Deleting the app from your phone on its own does not delete your account, because the account lives on our servers, not on the handset.
If you no longer have access to the email address on the account either, contact us on the numbers below and we will verify you another way before actioning anything.
